Land & Sky Scenic Byway

See the wheat wave on the oasis! The pristine "high plains" that you'll see along the byway are in the very rural northwest region of the State. Not far away from town St. Francis, you'll see the absolutely stunning Airkaree Breaks (make sure to bring a camera or make sure your phone is charged up!)

Every one of the communities along this byway has an elevation that exceeds 3,200 feet! You won't see skyscrapers here, instead, feast your eyes on the "big sky" of the open prairie that visitors love to see - especially during an infamous Kansas sunset! Being higher up in elevation and far away from serious light pollution also makes for some great stargazing!
