Prairie Trail Scenic Byway

Parks & Nature

Two of Kansas' most unique State Parks are nearby the Prairie Trail Scenic Byway route. Explore the unique beauty of Mushroom Rock State Park, where you can view the picture-perfect, 100 million-year-old, 'mushroom-shaped' rock formations. Also, don't forget Kanopolis State Park, where recreational opportunities abound, including hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, fishing, boating, hunting, swimming, birding, and more. You can also see elk and bison on tram tours at the Maxwell Wildlife Refuge.
