Welcome to Winona, a city in Logan County with an elevation of 3,327 feet on the western high plains of Kansas. The city spent its first three years under the unique name of "Gopher" before being renamed in the late 1880s. While the town is quite small, it remains conveniently located on the simultaneous US-40 and Western Vistas Historic Byway.
