Things to do in Leoti, Kansas

Leoti, pronounced (Lee-oh-tuh), is the county seat of Wichita County. Visitors to Leoti are enthralled with its rich and wild, western history. The town had to fight rather violently to establish itself as the rightful seat of Wichita County. The evidence of the town's wild history can be seen at the Museum of the Great Plains and the Washington Ames House. The town also is about 25 miles from nearby Scott City and the Western Vistas Historic Byway

For those who enjoy late-night stargazing, then the city of Leoti and most of Wichita County are the right places to be! Being that these areas are so rural, they end up being void of much of the light pollution that prevents the visibility of the stars. Be sure to take a moment and enjoy the big sky!
