Smith Center, county seat of Smith County has many attractions. Wagner park and the Old Dutch Mill, The Smith Co. Courthouse, In front of the courthouse square the Veteran’s Memorial was dedicated in 2003. Smith County Memorial Hospital has plans to build with the groundbreaking being this fall (2016). You may want to enjoy Main Street with a continuous block of late nineteenth and early twentieth century commercial buildings, with The Richardsonian Romansque style building that is on the National and State Historic Registers, Ingleboro Bed & Breakfast, mansion built in the 19th century. Modern amenities in Smith Center include a 9-hole Golf Course, Outdoor Swimming Pool and Digital Movie Theater. On September 23rd & 24th the 104th “Old Settlers Day’ will be a day of many activities, Parade, free BBQ, Beer Garden and free Dances, inflatables for the kids activities, Soft Ball Tournament, and many more activities.
