Things to do in Richmond, Kansas

Richmond is located just 16 miles south of Ottawa on US 59. The town was founded in 1870 by John Richmond, who donated 40 acres for the project. A trailhead for the Prairie Spirit Trail that runs from Ottawa to Iola is located at Richmond. They welcome visitors to come enjoy a picnic, fishing, or camping at their lake. Grab a good book at the library or check out the museum which is open from 1pm to 4pm each Saturday and Sunday from Memorial Day to Labor Day. There is an Amish furniture store located along the highway. The Richmond Fair is held each year in July with a parade, 4H exhibits and entertainment.
