Paola is a charming community located thirty minutes south of the Kansas City metropolitan area on US 169 Highway in Miami County. Park Square is the heart of downtown. Many community events are held including the Paola Car Show, Roots Festival, Music on the Square, Paola Farmers Market, Halloween Parade and the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Surrounding the Square is a variety of antique stores, gifts and specialty stores, florist, boutiques, quilt shop, an event center, great restaurants and professional offices.
In the center of the Square is a picturesque fountain and Gazebo which is used as the backdrop to many weddings each year. Paola is home to the Miami County Historical Museum and is rich in history. Thousands of people visit downtown Paola each year for festivals, weddings, parades, etc. For a fun day trip, Paola is a great place to begin or end your day.
