Meade is a community located in Southwest Kansas at the intersection of K-23, Highway 160, and Highway 54. Best known for Meade State Park, located 13 miles south of the city, Meade is well known for its outdoor attractions and abundant nearby wildlife. In addition to the nearby state park, just a few miles east of Meade, is the beautiful Big Basin Prairie Preserve and the supposedly haunted St. Jacob's Well. For those who enjoy the history of the outlaws in Kansas, such as the infamous Dalton Gang, then you have to stop by the Dalton Gang Hideout Museum & Souvenir Shop. Despite having less than 2,000 residents, Meade comes with numerous amenities, hosting numerous local restaurants and places to stay.
