The City of Kingman is located in the Golden Valley of the Ninnescah. Its walkable Main Street has six buildings on the National Historic Register and a seventh on the State Register. Visitors can enjoy Music on Main Street while locating one of the seven murals in the downtown district. Entertainment can be found at the Kingman Historic Theatre where first run movies, live concerts, and tours are scheduled throughout the year.
Shop and dine along the brick lined streets and stay the night in one of our historic B&Bs or hotels. Recreational activities include hunting, fishing, golf, rodeo, and a robust park system. Points of interest include Heritage Hall, a mixed media art project featuring Kingman’s brightest past and current residents, the Veterans Memorial which is home to one of six miniature Statue of Liberty sculptures in Kansas, and the Kingman County Historical Museum notable for its original and tall hose drying tower. Celebrate rural pioneering spirit at Cessna Fest, enjoy the wholesomeness of the Annual Lighted Christmas Parade, eat at the Cattleman’s Picnic and Carnival at the annual county fair, and take-in fireworks at Family Fest. Kingman is located 30 minutes west of Wichita on US Highway 54.
