Haddam is home to Kansas’ largest honey producer, Brown Honey Farms, and Rev Honey flavored beverages. Haddam is located in Washington County on Hwy 22 north of US Hwy 36. Haddam’s municipal election of 1901 saw women put into the offices of Mayor, City Clerk, Police Judge and entire City Council, even though women were not given the right to vote until 1920. The women decided to build a jail, accepted a $325.00 bid and saw construction of the stone jail within five months. The jail is on its’ original site, located one-half block south of main street at the bank corner. A fun drive-by, a brief history is posted next to the jail.
The City was founded in 1869 and today has 101 residents. Stop-by the community Haddam Café for a snack or meal. Haddam Frontier Days is an annual event found on their website at www.ci.haddam.ks.us
