Things to do in Arkansas City, Kansas

“Arkansas City," commonly referred to as "Ark City," is nestled between the Arkansas and Walnut rivers in the southwestern part of Cowley County, in South Central Kansas. Whether you arrive from Highway 166 or Highway 77, both will lead you to our Historic Downtown Area. There, you can find a wide variety of dining and shopping options to enjoy.

With its abundance of trees, parks, and friendly people, we are also home to the Cherokee Strip Museum, Etzanoa – The Great Settlement, The Last Run Car Show, The 'Arkalalah' Festival, and many other exciting events. While in the downtown area, don’t miss the opportunity to tour the fully restored Burford Theatre. It offers a variety of entertainment options for all ages.
