Visitors to Kansas should know that the state offers a diverse range of dining options, including various Caribbean and Latin American restaurants! It certainly isn't the first thing most people think of when coming to the Sunflower State, as the landlocked geography tends to give the impression that the state is somehow "cut off" from the global cultures of the world; however, nothing could be further from the truth.

In many ways, the state's central location within the US has helped expose it to various cuisines from around the world. When culture spreads through the US, it almost always comes through the heartland, and the idea that it simply hugs the coastal cities is, well, false! If you beg to differ, just come to Kansas and see this all for yourself!

June is Caribbean Heritage Month!

Another interesting fact I was unaware of until I began writing this blog was that June is the month to honor Americans with Caribbean heritage. Another term for Caribbean Americans is "West Indian Americans," and regardless of the term you use, it encompasses a diverse group of cultures and countries, all with a unique history and heritage. This incredibly fascinating part of the world is very diverse, perhaps the most diverse region of the world, and by following the list of restaurants to try down below, you get to enjoy this region's flavors right here in Kansas!
