Things to do in Weir, Kansas

One of Cherokee County’s coal mining towns, Weir was one of the first places commercial coal mining took place in Kansas. Today, the community has a population of approximately 650 and is home to a bank, a library, and several other small businesses. The nearby Mined Land Wildlife Area provides many opportunities for camping, hunting, and fishing.
