Things to Do in Selden, Kansas

Selden is located on U.S. Route 83 where the highway parallels the track of the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad, now Kyle Railroad, in the northwestern corner of the county. The town was named after Selden G. Hopkins, a member of the town company. Even though the town is relatively small, a number of businesses can be found within city limits such as a furniture store, library, lumberyard, fitness center, bank, two churches, grocery store, restaurants, an auto body shop and more. The elementary school for Golden Plains school district #316 (Rexford, KS) is found in Selden. The town's annual fireworks display celebrating the 4th of July is well-known in surrounding areas.
