The community of McPherson is a progressive Kansas town of 14,000 residents, which boasts strong roots in agriculture, industry, small business, education, sports and arts. The industrial base includes over 50 companies, while the downtown district is home to a variety of unique shops and restaurants. Two private colleges offer competitive liberal arts education opportunities including the world-renowned automotive restoration program at McPherson College. Residents of all ages benefit from athletic and cultural events throughout the year. McPherson is an ideal location for a one-day shopping trip, a weekend getaway or an extended stay. The town is also a popular destination for meetings and conventions. The newest state-appointed Kansas Travel Information Center is located in the McPherson Museum, 1111 E. Kansas, providing visitors with a welcoming corridor from I-135 to downtown McPherson.
