Sod House/Little Red School House
10th & Walnut St,
The sod house was created by the Marysville Kiwanis Club to depict one type of housing used on farms in the early days of settlement. The one-room school house is the former Bommer School House. It was originally located in the country about six miles north of Marysville. At one time Marshall County had over 100 country schools like this one. Most were frame buildings, painted white. This schoolhouse was painted red after it was moved into Marysville.
The sod house and the school house are both located in the Marysville City Park.
