From tracks to trail, the 1931 depot provides a nice rest stop for travelers and trekkers alike. This trailhead for the Prairie Spirit Trail provides shady areas for a picnic, restrooms, water and a variety of railroad memorabilia on display. Visitor information for Garnett and Anderson County can be found here. The Santa Fe Depot was saved from demolition and renovated in 1996. The property is owned and mantained by the City of Garnett for use along the trail and for special events, including ice cream socials, community band concerts, Halloween haunted house, fun runs and more. Call Garnett City Hall to reserve for public or private events or gatherings. The depot is open to the public daily 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
