The Rush County Courthouse, constructed in 1888, is a magnificent example of 19th century Romanesque architecture featuring stone accents, stained glass windows, and intricately detailed woodwork. The building is still being used as a courthouse. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is currently undergoing the final phases of a complete restoration funded in part by two historic preservation grants from the Kansas State Historical Society. The courthouse is open Monday through Friday 9am-12pm and 1-5pm.
