This Historical Marker gives a brief history of the Hollenberg Ranch and the Pony Express.

The Hollenberg Ranch began in 1858 and was a stop for Pony Express beginning in 1861. Fresh mounts were stabled for riders; they could also eat and rest at this location. The Station is located on the Oregon-California Trail and was also a stop for stagecoaches and settlers moving west. The marker was erected by the Kansas State Historical Society and Kansas Department of Transportation.
