Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Paolucci's honors its Italian heritage. Menu items include Italian dinners, pasta dishes including lasagna, linguine and shrimp scampi, sandwiches, American classics such as steak and shrimp, soup and salads, and delicious desserts. A deli and grocery is adjacent to the restaurant and features large historic photos of Atchison from the early 1900s. An adjacent banquet room is available for special occasions. The Paolucci family business dates back to 1894 when two brothers, Felix and Dominic Paolucci came to Atchison from Frosolone, Italy. Along with Dominic's wife Rosa, they started Paolucci's Grocery. Dominic and Rosa's daughter Mary and her husband Ed Begley turned the business into the Paolucci and Begley Grocery. Mary's son Mike Begley joined the family business in 1970. In 1983, Mike and his wife Margie opened Paolucci's Restaurant. Above the restaurant, the former Traveler's Hotel, became Paolucci's Lounge, operated by Mike and Margie's son Ed Begley.
