The National Teachers Hall of Fame is committed to drawing the public's attention to exceptional educators through a museum and an induction ceremony which recognizes five of the nation's most outstanding Pre-K through 12 career teachers each June. Visitors may step back in time and visit the one-room schoolhouse or sit quietly at the Memorial to Fallen Educators, which commemorates the lives of 118 educators that were lost “in the line of duty.” The museum, located in Visser Hall 114 on the Emporia State University campus, is open from 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday, and is also open by appointment.
