Constructed in 1963 for the purposes of flood control, water supply, and recreation. Four separate campgrounds offer accomodations from semi-primitive to developed. All recreational facilities are maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Marion Reservoir is noted for its Walleye, White Bass, Crappie, and Channel Catfish fishing. Approximately 4,100 acres of public lands adjacent to the lake are maintained as a Public Hunting Area by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. Stop at the Corps of Engineers Project Office for lake brochures and further information.
