Come visit historical western Kansas and experience the rustic charm of the Logan House Hotel located in Russell Springs along the “Western Vistas Historic Byway.” The historical Logan House Hotel was built in 1887 to help establish the incorporated town of Russell Springs and to house the construction workers building the courthouse. The nine-room "Make your own bed and cook your own breakfast" hotel is the perfect venue for family reunions, birthday parties, women’s gatherings (quilters, crafters, scrap bookers), or those wanting to remember what the simple life was like in a small, turn of the century, midwestern town. There is a front room with table & chairs to sit and visit or play games. There is a TV in the back living room area with antenna, some streaming capabilities, DVD player and a few movies. The dining room has a large table for group meals. There is a landline phone and Wi-Fi. You can receive long distance calls or make local calls. In the fall, hunters needing lodging will enjoy the ambiance of the western décor. The hotel has nine decorated bedrooms, four with queen beds and six with double beds. There are two full bathrooms on the main floor. The kitchen area has a glass top electric range, two refrigerators, a microwave, and some small appliances. Dishes, cookware, serving dishes, baking dishes, and other kitchen supplies are available for guest use. Across the street from the hotel is Porter Park with large open areas to recreate and is set up with a disc golf course. On the property are a horseshoe pit and other large areas to set up your own lawn games (croquet, badminton, volleyball, etc.) The covered, wraparound porch with rocking chairs lends an air of nostalgia to a relaxing stay. If you’re up early enough, you may see turkeys or deer.
