Located in Lakewood Park Natural Area, intertwining walking trails lead you to a lush green forest. A unique setting which creates and nurtures curiosity and interest of nature with rooms filled with animals and plants. Learning stations include bird identification, insect life, geology, prehistoric life, and urban wildlife habitat. Hiking trails weave through an area containing prairie, woodlands, and water. The entire site is developed around an old sandpit, which is now dedicated to nature interpretation and recreation, Many species of wildlife typical of urban woodlands are found here, including white-tailed deer, fox squirrels and raccoons.
