This beautifully renovated theatre was entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. A community jewel, the Historic Northrup Theatre first opened April 7, 1930 and is a classic example of the Art Deco movement of the 1940s. The inaugural movie was “Footlights and Fools” with tickets costing 35 cents for adults and 10 cents for children. Purchased by the Syracuse-Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce in 1991, the Historic Northrup Theatre continues to operate today showing recently released movies in 3D and 2D on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Come enjoy the show.
