This display of over 300 American flags fly with pride at the Garnett Municipal Cemetery over Memorial Day Weekend, with a special ceremony conducted by the Garnett American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars on Monday at 10 am. Each flag represents someone laid to rest in this cemetery who served their country, some giving the ultimate sacrifice. Volunteers man the event providing grave site locations. The family of first Kansas born Governor and U.S. Senator, Arthur Capper, are buried here, and other notable Kansans.
