Bruce White’s carousel creatures have been featured on rides and in various businesses, and even some homes. If you’ve been to an Applebee’s Restaurant in the last decade or so, or visited the Indianapolis Zoo, you’ve likely seen his work. His hand-carved wood figures are incredibly detailed and each is a priceless work of art.Today, a special group of artistic painters, millwrights, and electricians, carefully watch over the carousel, keeping the carousel pristine for future generations to enjoy. To help further the mission of conservation, Bruce and Cindy White donated the carousel to Friends of Lee Richardson Zoo. Riders of the Carousel will be able to collect Proceeds from the carousel support the zoo. Whether you are visiting Garden City for the first time or the 100th, you’ll want to be sure to include Lee Richardson Zoo and the Conservation Carousel on your bucket list.
