Columbian Theatre, Museum and Art Center

The Columbian Theatre is in a restored 1890's theatre in downtown Wamego and is a venue for the exhibition of the largest collection of decorative arts from the 1893 Chicago World's Fair - also known as the Columbian Exhibition. Included in the collection are six, larger than life paintings which hang in the upstairs theatre. After extensive renovation, the theatre reopened in 1994 and to this day, holds 5 live productions, several concerts and more, each year in the Peddicord Playhouse. Also in The Columbian Theatre is the Swogger Art Gallery, which is comprised of local and regional artists' works that is rotated throughout the year.
