Rich in tradition and history, Baker University is a small private university affiliated with the Methodist church, located in the heart of Baldwin City. It was established in 1858 along the Santa Fe Trail and is the oldest university in Kansas. Tours of the Quayle Bible collection, Old Castle Museum, Osborne Chapel and the other historical points of interest are available.
Baker's four schools serve more than 4,000 students at various campuses: the College of Arts and Sciences and School of Education undergraduate programs at the Baldwin campus, the School of Nursing at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka, and the School of Professional and Graduate Studies and School of Education graduate programs with locations in Overland Park, Topeka, Wichita, North Kansas City and Lee's Summit, Mo.
