The stunning beauty of 40,000 blooming bulbs meets performing arts and culinary delights at the Art at the Arb event, April 15-16, 2023 at the Bartlett Arboretum in Belle Plaine. You’ll be able to admire the carefully curated colors of spring while listening to bluegrass, big band, jazz, red dirt and rock music.

Wamego’s Tulip Festival is another iconic Kansas event that will be held April 15-16, 2023. In addition to the stunning tulips, festival goers will be able to shop at more than 150 vendors at their craft fair in the city park. Adults will also be able to sample some tasty beer, wine, and cider at their Tasting Tent. Have kiddos? No worries! There will also be family fun activities on site, including inflatable games, homemade ice cream, petting zoo, face painting, pony rides and more.

Botanica, the Wichita arboretum, will also host Tulip Fest 2023 on April 1, 8, and 15^th 2023. Visitors will be able to listen to live music, enjoy a mimosa, go on a walking tour of the gardens (must pre-register for the tour), and enjoy more than 70,000 tulips. Be sure to visit Botanica’s website before hand to get the latest information on the entertainment available for each festival date… It’ll be a new experience every day!

Ready to dig into the science of gardens? There’s no better place than the K-State Gardens! Not only can you learn about horticulture, but you can take a look at some incredibly rare colors of tulips as you tour the gardens. They are estimating their 2023 tulips will have a peak bloom between April 5-15^th, and the gardens are available to tour daily from dawn to 10:00 pm March-November. Ready to grab that next Insta-worthy photo for the fam? Be sure to check out their Tulip Egg-Stravaganza Photo Op on April 8 from 9:00-2:00 PM. The gardens will have a photographer on hand to capture those priceless moments for a $20 donation to the Gardens. Not into tulips, no worries! The gardens will also have collections of other flowers throughout the season, as well. You can view irises (April-May), peonies (late May), daylilies (June-August), roses (June-October) and their All-America selections display gardens from June until first frost.

Tulips at Twilight is a larger-than-life celebration of springtime joy. You’ll be able to find thousands of tulips and daffodils next to gorgeous lighted displays that make for a remarkable luminary walk and electric light show. You’ll find this award-winning event at Old Prairie Town at Ward-Meade Historic Site and Botanical Garden. The event is open nightly between April 7-23, 2023. You’ll find a face painter and balloon artist on Friday and Saturday evenings, but if you’re interested in a quieter experience, weeknights at the gardens are for you.
