Why Kansas Agritourism?

Agritourism, a blend of “agriculture” and “tourism,” is an innovative way for farms and agricultural businesses to connect with visitors. By offering unique experiences that educate and entertain, visitors can connect directly with the source of their food, learn about farming practices, and enjoy the rural lifestyle.

Kansas is perfectly positioned for exceptional agritourism experiences. As one of America’s leading agricultural states, Kansas has millions of acres of farmland and the state’s diverse landscape supports everything from traditional grain farming to innovative vineyards.

Kansas is also full of friendly farmers with genuine Midwestern hospitality who really want visitors to connect with the land. Once you experience these Kansas entrepreneurs and their agritourism gems, you’ll definitely want to find more!

At Juniper Hill Farm & Table, pizza nights transform dinner into a joyful celebration of farm-fresh flavors. On the weekends in May – July, September, and October, by reservation only, families gather at this working farm to enjoy artisanal pizzas fired in an outdoor wood-burning oven. The food is seasonal and delicious featuring ingredients harvested just steps away on the farm’s organic farms.

Farmer Scotty is a first generation farmer. He learned how to farm from neighboring farmers when he was just a teen and studied agriculture at Iowa State University. He’s now one of the largest vegetable producers in the entire state of Kansas!

Scotty’s mom, Nancy, is the mastermind of the Farm & Table portion, however. Her goal is to lure people to the farm and get them to feel something. And boy has she accomplished that goal!

While on the farm, you can enjoy drinks and appetizers, explore the farm, pet any wandering cats or dogs, or play lawn games in the spacious outdoor dining area.
