See you on the road!
The tourism roadshow is a yearly training excursion for the state tourism office. Kansas tourism hits the road in order to provide hands-on training workshops with the entire tourism industry. Businesses, attractions, tourism regions/groups, DMOs, and more all come together at 4 meetings across the state in order to learn about what Kansas Tourism can offer and how all of those in the industry can work together to promote the wheat state! There's #NoPlaceLikeKS for tourism and we love getting to work with you all.
Here is what you can learn:
- Kansas Tourism Content Calendar/Marketing Initiatives
- Co-op Marketing (digital ads, influencers, Arrivalist, social media)
- TravelKS.com website listings & travel guide listings
- Publications (Travel guide, KANSAS! Magazine, state park/byway/outdoor guides)
- Economic Impact
- and MORE!
Each year we change our course and try to hit attractions & businesses we have never been too or have not seen in a long time. This allows us to not only gain photography, but also aids us in creating new content. By visiting these locations and gaining the experience, we are able to better promote and provide guidance to travelers looking for something specific.
The roadshow is typically held in June or July and requires registration, so make sure to put a reminder on your calendar to check back closer to those months for a registration link as it is pushed live.
What to be a host?
Although the roadshow path changes every year, we always start from the west and head east. If you would like to be a host, please reach out to the tourism staff and let us know. We are always looking for new stops, meeting spaces, etc.
