Marciana Vequist had the good fortune to be transplanted to Kansas 11 years ago. She was born and raised in New York and New Jersey. After college, she spent 20 years in California before moving to the Midwest to pursue a doctorate in psychology. Photography provides a wonderful creative outlet and a means of escape for her. Her professional work as a psychologist can sometimes be intense and she turned to photography for a fun and adventurous distraction. What started as a hobby has become a passion. She lives in Lawrence and spends a lot of time at Clinton Lake exploring and shooting sunrises, sunsets, and moonrises. She also enjoys traveling around the beautiful state of Kansas looking for new places to photograph and meeting interesting people. She is proud to be a card carrying Kansas Explorer!
