Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

1 (6oz.) package semi-sweet
chocolate chips
2/3 c. shortening
½ c. sugar
1 egg
¼ c dark corn syrup
1 ¾ c. all-purpose ? our
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
¼ tsp. salt
1 c. chopped pecans
Granulated sugar

Melt chocolate chips over hot water; remove from heat. Combine
shortening, sugar and egg; beat until creamy. Blend in melted
chocolate and corn syrup. Stir together ? our, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Add dry ingredients to chocolate mixture; blend well. Stir in chopped pecans. Roll dough into balls about 1-inch in diameter; roll in granulated sugar. Bake on cookie sheet at 350 for
15 minutes. Let stand one minute before removing from pan.
