Home on the Range Cabin

The birthplace of the state song, the cabin was the home to Dr. Brewster M. Higley, who described the beauty of the site he had chosen for his Kansas homestead in a poem in 1871. His words were set to music in the song "Home on the Range." Located in Athol  in the northeast region of the state, on the banks of Beaver Creek, the cabin sits and accepts visitors who can often be found singing his famous song.
