The City of South Hutchinson boundaries are marked on north and east city limits by the Arkansas River that divides it from the City of Hutchinson. The ‘Salt Discovery Well – Historical Salt Marker’ pays homage to the first salt that was discovered in South Hutchinson in 1887. This community is also home of the future Reno County Veteran’s Memorial that is a tribute to all Reno County veterans in all branches of the US Military from Civil War through today. If you drive through South Hutchinson, slow down, wave and stop at one of the four convenience stores; eat at one of five restaurants; spend the night in one of their hotels and shop in one of their stores including Heartland Outdoors on K-96. Families can also worship at one of the six churches located in town.
