Raymond is a clean and quiet bedroom community with 75 percent of the employed residents traveling 30 minutes or less for their employment. The community support shines in this small town. The Raymond Community Development Group, a tenacious grassroots endeavor, fights to keep the town’s civic identity alive. The former Raymond Junior High building is much of the focus of the town as the community center. The preservation of this building generates Raymond’s capacity to discover its own social needs and then to meet them. Monthly Saturday morning breakfasts are a popular event for the residents. Anyone is welcome for a free will donation. The community holds two flea markets a year, one in the spring and one in the fall. Rumor has it that these are worth the drive just for the pie!
