Things to do in Onaga, Kansas

Onaga is a small town of about 700 people, nestled in the rolling Flint Hills of Kansas that sits along the waters of the Vermillion River.  Onaga is a great place to raise a family.  A great school system and the City is located within 50 miles of either Topeka or Manhattan.  Onaga has the conveniences in town that you need, but with all the benefits of small town rural America. Come for a Visit or Stay for a Lifetime!

Outdoor Recreation:

Onaga is surrounded by scenic drives and hiking and biking trails.  Walk-in public fishing and hunting areas are nearby.  Our beautiful 9-hole golf course is open to the public and offers lovely views of the Flint Hills.  

History:

Catch a glimpse of the past at our historic museum complex, original limestone buildings downtown and the Pottawatomie County Fair Pavilion.  Built in 1921, this round barn is one of very few of its kind left in Kansas.  

Family Activities:

The fairgrounds offer picnic areas, a public swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts and softball fields.  All ages can enjoy picnics and playtime at Leisure Land Park.
