Kansas is a salute to the real, and you'll get no better taste of the Sunflower State than our 2021 Kansas Media Trips. From one-of-a-kind places, authentic experiences, and a dash of adventure, your Kansas experience will be one to remember. These 2021 adventures will be an intimate group of no more than five people, including your Kansas Tour Guide, so you'll get an up-close experience wherever your trip may take you.  

Transportation to Kansas is not included in covered expenses. Covered expenses during the media trip include transportation, lodging, meals, and admission fees. Physical requirements for participants vary based on trip selected (such as kayaking, ability to hike 3 miles, stairs, loading/unloading luggage/gear, etc.) 

Western Kansas Media Trip

Monday, August 2nd, 2021-Thursday August 5th, 2021
Airport: Dodge City Regional Airport

Explore Kansas’ Wild West country as we start our journey in the famous Cowtown, Dodge City. Experience some of Kansas’ most spectacular state parks as we kayak the calm waters of Historic Scott State Park and wander through the Niobrara chalk formations at Little Jerusalem Badlands State Park. See a famous Kansas sunset at the highest point in Kansas. Get up close to watch the magnificent bison as they graze the pastures. See the quirky and unexpected as we travel through M.T. Liggett’s land and art installations.

Monday August 30th, 2021- Thursday September 2nd, 2021
Airport: Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport

Feel the warmth of the fire as Wichita’s Keeper of the Plains comes to life. Explore the only open underground salt mine in North American, Strataca. Have a photoshoot in an infamous Kansas sunflower field. Visit the largest interior marsh of the United States. Stand in awe of the Dakota rock formations at Mushroom Rock State Park. Immerse yourself in Lindsborg, Little Sweden U.S.A.

South Central Media Trip


Eastern Kansas Media Trip

Monday September 20th, 2021- Thursday September 23rd, 2021
Airport: Kansas City International Airport

Explore one of the coolest big cities in the U.S., Kansas City. Devour some famous BBQ. Hear the stories about the fight to freedom and how the Quindaro tribe helped freed slaves find safety. Find solace in the Flint Hills of Kansas, the largest remaining section of the tallgrass prairie ecosystem in America. Immerse yourself in Lawrence, one of the most unique towns in Kansas and home to the historic Mass Street.
