(785) 741-2829
1774 230th Street, Hiawatha, KS 66434

The Klinefelter Farm consists of 480 acres which were given to Highland Community College to be used as a working commercial farm to benefit Highland students pursuing a career in farming and for experimental purposes. Research plots on the Farm are being used by Kansas State University, The Land Institute, and the Community Foundation of Northeast Kansas. The historic Klinefelter Barn has been renovated as a conference center for agricultural and educational meetings. The Farm also has nature trails, a ropes/challenge course, primitive campgrounds for organized groups, a picnic ground, bee hives, an orchard, a vineyard, vegetable gardens, a native American heirloom seed garden, a historic chuck wagon, and wildlife habitat including a half mile long quail habitat project sponsored by Quails Forever. Visitors and groups are always welcome and Farm tours are available. The Farm is located two miles east of Hiawatha, KS just off US 36 Highway at the Mulberry Rd. exit. A sign at that corner directs visitors east to the main entrance at 1774 230th St. For more information, call Wendell Ganstrom, Farm Projects Manager, at 785-741-2829.
