(620) 235-2177
402 Central, Saint Paul, KS 66771

Located a quarter mile east on Hwy 47. Osage Indians and other settlers of the original Osage Mission are buried there. Still in use for St. Francis Catholic Church today.

Mother Bridget Hayden ministered in this area from 1847-1890. Her remains were originally buried along with 16 other Sisters of Loretto nearby.
In 1930, the remains of the 17 were carefully dug up to be relocated to this cemetery. In Mother Bridget's case, however, the skeleton was in a perfect state; not a bone was out of place, and the habit was as fresh and clean as it was when she was buried in it 40 years earlier. Many locals view it as a sign that she was a saint.
