The Shelly-Tipton Historic Home B & B offers the peace and slow paced atmosphere of the nostalgic days gone by. Built by early Garnett settler, Samual Shelly and once owned by Col. Samuel Tipton, leader of the free-state military company organized to protect against pro slavery forces during the Civil War. The Shelly-Tipton House stands as one of Garnett's oldest homes. Find comfort in The Tipton Room or The Shelly Room. Partake of a luxurious bubblebath by candlelight in the home's original clawfoot tub! Enjoy a delightful breakfast with an array of heirloom recipes used for your pleasure. Quiches, egg plaisies, angelwing biscuits and gravy, pastries and plentiful fruit, juice and coffee served. Evening meals are also available. For those biking the Prairie Spirit Trail, the owners offer bike repair services! Tours available upon request, and the dining and living room areas can be reserved for special gatherings. Ask about their wedding package!
