Pioneer Log Cabin

Manhattan City Park, Manhattan, KS 66502

On October 1915, the foundation for the pioneer log cabin was laid. The stone came from the first building constructed at Kansas State Agriculture College. A box of historical papers was placed in the foundation at that time. It was originally built to show the type of home that housed the early settlers of Riley County. The cabin features historical relics such as farming tools, examples of medical paraphernalia, and household appliances of the period.
