Pheasant Runn Hunting Club & Guide Service
25047 160 Ave, Collyer, KS 67631
Pheasant Runn Hunting Club is located south of I-70 in Trego County. This 240-acre controlled shooting area is a great place to encounter the best hunt of a lifetime.
The Club specializes in gamebird hunts -- pheasant, chukars, and quail. You may choose from a guided or non-guided hunt, and you may put your own custom package together or choose from a pre-set package. Lodging and meals are available or you may stay in WaKeeney, which is only 15 minutes away.
Special hunts include the Great Western Kansas Gun Dog Competition; the Annual Northwest Kansas Chukars Nationals; and the "Pass It On" Special Youth Hunt. Extended hunting season in the controlled shooting area runs from Sept. 1 to March 31, so make your plans for a memorable hunting trip to the Western Kansas plains where wildlife is abundant.
Pheasant Runn Hunting Club & Guide Service is found along the Smoky Valley Scenic Byway. Named for their hazy, blue appearance at sunrise and sunset, the Smoky Hills divide the more easterly mixed-grass prairie from the shortgrass prairie of the Western Great Plains. The Smoky Valley Scenic Byway travels through the Smoky Hill River Valley, a showplace of native grasses and wildflowers. Purple and bright-yellow coneflowers species, red-and-yellow Indian blanket flower, sky-blue pitcher sage, and cream-flowered yucca mix with big and little bluestem and grama grasses. Croplands provide additional color washes of emerald-green winter wheat in early spring and russet, ripened milo in autumn. Rock outcroppings hint at the foundation underlying the landscape - chalky limestone left by ancient seas. Take a look at the other sights you can see along the Smoky Valley Scenic Byway here.
