This park includes the Powell Observatory and ball fields for recreation events. Every year the Louisburg annual 4th of July celebration, "FreedomFest" is held at Lewis-Young Park. Visitors from miles away partake in this celebration which provides music, activities for kids, food and a spectacular fireworks display for your enjoyment.

During every Labor Day weekend, the Park hosts the annual American Legion Truck and Tractor Pull. These events are held each Friday and Saturday before the Monday, Labor Day holiday.

Lewis-Young Park is also home to Regional Boy Scout events as well as High School and Intramural soccer, baseball and softball programs.

Lewis-Young Park is over 100 acres of rich, green lawns and relaxing activities.
