Beginning as The Dodge City Times, which began publishing as early as 1883, then came The Dodge City Democrat, and finally, The Dodge City Journal. A whole new name and identity came into being in 1949 when The Dodge City Journal was designated a “farm publication” rather than a community weekly and was renamed The High Plains Journal. In 1959, Journal, Inc. was renamed High Plains Publishers, Inc. as it is known today. Circulation includes 10 states and more than 50,000 subscribers.
