Cunningham/Baker Olympic Memorial
433 Morton St., Elkhart, KS 67950
Glenn Cunningham was severly burned as a child in a school house fire but went on to be a track star who broke the world record for running the mile as well as winning a silver medal in the Olympics during the early 1930s. Thane Baker, also a track star from Morton County, went to the Olypmics and won 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal in the early 1950s. The memorial is a tribute to these two "Elkhart Sons" .
