The bronze fire bell began serving the City of Dodge City in 1887 in the steeple on top of city hall which first stood at Second Avenue and Trail Street. In 1929, the bronze bell was relocated to the newly constructed city hall (now Boot Hill Distillery) and rang out its call until the 1940's when newer technologies silenced the bell. in 2004, community supporters retrieved the bronze fire bell from the old City Hall and dedicated the site as a place of honor for the preservation of its symbolism to the community's commitment to progress and fire protection.
Dedicated to Dodge City's Firefighters and emergency responders - Past, Present, and Future.
