Six gardeners will open wide their garden gates for the Fort Scott Secret Garden Tour on June 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The David Harney Garden illustrates what you can do when you have large trees in your yard. The Pete and Janice Allen garden illustrates what can be done on a large lot in the city. The Dale and Betty Johnson garden includes a number of antique farm implements in their flower beds. The Lundberg garden is an enclosed garden and features a number of items constructed with materials salvaged from historical locations in Fort Scott. The Lynn Dodson garden illustrates what can be done with a very small space. The Rita Emerson garden has something of interest everywhere you look in her backyard garden.

The Bourbon County Master Gardeners and Garden Club sponsor the event and tickets are on sale at Country Cupboard or the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce, 1-800-245-FORT. Tickets are $8.00 in advance and $10.00 at the garden gate of the first garden you visit.

Proceeds from this tour help fund the Club’s mission of downtown beautification.
