#KSBucketList Experience #7 - Big Brutus
South of West Mineral in Cherokee County, the Big Brutus museum is home to the world's largest electric coal shovel. In its heyday, this 160-foot-tall shovel moved 0.22 miles per hour and required a three-man crew to operate. Today, visitors can sit in the operator's seat and discover the mining history of our state.
Visit any of the 70 locations, take a photo at the site and post it to Instagram or Twitter or on the Kansas Tourism Facebook page and use the hashtag #KSBucketList (one entry per person per location) for a chance to win. One winner will be drawn at random each month and awarded a prize, and a grand prize winner will be announced at the end of 2016. Contest begins January 1, 2016.
